About ATOD

ATOD (Anatolian Society of Medical Oncology) is the second oncology association in Turkey and has been established in 2003. ATOD settled in Ankara but has 26 active founder members from different cities like Gaziantep, Kayseri, Adana, İzmir, Van, Mersin, Erzurum, Elazığ, Denizli, İstanbul.

ATOD's establishment reasons are;
1 - To assist and implement young fellows for gaining experience in projects and protocols in order to  promote them in national and international platforms.
2 - To support members who would like to work and study abroad.
3 - To support members in congresses by directing them as speakers and organizators.
4 - To assist members in publishing their studies on international platforms.
5 - To raise  awareness in public about preventing cancer issues.
6 - To work coordinately with other related  medical branches about oncology.
7 - To support National Cancer programs by consulting state and private sector.

ATOD is periodicly, once in 3 months, holding meetings in different cities by all members participation. At these meetings; mutual treatment strategies  are formed and reviewed, patience track systems are revised. Under ATOD, there are medical liasons whom are working in different cities in order to success these objectives.

ATOD's also organizing a yearly major congress, UTOK (National Medical Oncology Congress), which 8th will be held this year.
ATOD is supporting grants for every member who would like to work or study abroad,   covering their expenses during their stay.

Since 2004, ATOD is distributing scientific publishment awards to members.

ATOD has become a large active society depending on being open to new scientific developments and ideas.
